Who is Joe?
New school social worker at PoDS!
Joe Rickert, more commonly known as just “Joe” is the school social worker here at PoDS. His schedule alternates every other week, Tuesdays he is available 7:30 am – 11:30 am, then the next week he is available on Thursdays 11:30 am – 3:00 pm. The best way to set up an appointment is to talk to Mrs.Woyak so she can put you on the schedule.
After going to college for business, Joe dropped out to sell insurance, that was not fulfilling, but he knew working with humans was. So, he went back to school to become a teacher, but that didn’t quite fit either, so he chose to go into social work, which brought him here. His favorite aspect of the job is being able to build a personal connection with students, believing “you can learn a lot more from a person rather than a “patient”’. In his free time, Joe enjoys camping, playing video games, spending time with his family and friends, and watching trashy TV shows.
If that wasn’t enough for you to get to know a bit about him, just know that if Joe were any Pokémon, he believes he would be a Squirtle, although everyone wants to be a Charizard, that’s simply “too ambitious and false”.
